“U.S. Fancy” consists of grapefruit which meet the following requirements:
Basic requirements:
Discoloration:
Not more than one-tenth of the surface, in the aggregate, may be affected by discoloration. (See § 51.638.)
Firm;
Mature;
Similar varietal characteristics;
Smooth texture;
Well formed; and,
Well colored.
Free from:
Ammoniation;
Bruises;
Buckskin;
Cuts not healed;
Skin breakdown;
Decay;
Growth cracks;
Scab;
Sprayburn; and,
Wormy fruit.
Not injured by:
Green spots;
Oil spots;
Scale;
Scars; and,
Thorn scratches.
Not damaged by any other cause.
