Sec. 99w.
(1) From the general fund money appropriated under section 11, there is allocated an amount not to exceed $500,000.00 for 2018-2019 to facilitate a culture of health and physical activity as part of daily life. Funding under this section shall be a grant to the Michigan Fitness Foundation to work with the department to invest in a physical education curriculum. Funding under this section may support staff, evaluation, assessment, technology, meetings, training, travel, materials, and other administrative expenses in support of an updated physical education curriculum. Funding under this section may be used as matching dollars to qualify for federal and private resources to support physical education.
(2) Notwithstanding section 17b, payments made under this section shall be made not later than March 1, 2019.
