§ 55-193. (Repealed effective October 1, 2019) Escheat of estates in trust and equitable titles

An estate vested in a person merely by way of mortgage or on trust shall not escheat or be forfeited to the Commonwealth by reason of the mortgagee or trustee dying without heirs; but any equitable title to lands shall escheat or be forfeited, so far as it would, if the person having the equitable had the legal title.
