(1) If an employer terminates an employee in violation of this chapter, the employee may bring a civil action against the employer within one year after the day on which the employer terminates the employee.
(2) In a civil action described in Subsection (1), the court may order the employer to: (a) reinstate the employee in the employee's former position, including any fringe benefits or seniority rights; or (b) pay the employee back wages.
