Sec. 49.054. INCENTIVE AID. (a) For the first and second school years after creation of a consolidated district under this subchapter, the commissioner shall adjust allotments to the consolidated district to the extent necessary to preserve the effects of an adjustment under Section 48.052 to which either of the consolidating districts would have been entitled but for the consolidation.
(b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a district receiving incentive aid payments under this section is not entitled to incentive aid under Subchapter G, Chapter 13.
(c) Four or more districts that consolidate into one district under this subchapter within a period of one year may elect to receive incentive aid under this section or to receive incentive aid for not more than five years under Subchapter G, Chapter 13. Incentive aid under this subsection may not provide the consolidated district with more revenue in state and local funds than the district would receive at the level established under Section 48.257.
