§ 45-29-22. Proceedings and report by appraisers. The appraisers appointed pursuant to § 45-29-21, after being sworn to the faithful performance of their duties, shall immediately view the premises, and within fourteen (14) days of appointment, and after notice as the superior court may prescribe, proceed to hear the parties in interest as to their respective damages for the taking, and if the taking is less than the whole, then the damages to the remainder by reason of the taking. Within thirty (30) days after the commencement of hearings, or any longer period that the court may permit, the appraisers, or a majority of them, shall file in the office of the clerk of the superior court for the county where the land lies, a written report of their doings and their estimate of the damages so sustained, stating the names of the owners, and a brief description of their respective rights and interests taken, and damages consequent thereon.
