§ 42-62-11. Duty of health care providers to serve without discrimination - Certification. (a) Persons and other entities providing health services in the state have a duty to provide those services to any person in need of health services without regard to the person's race, sex, religion, age, or occupational status.
(b) On the basis of the duties required by this chapter and on the basis of existing legal requirements, the director of the department of human services shall provide by regulations promulgated under this chapter for the certification of providers and vendors of health services. The persons or entities found to be not meeting the duty prescribed by subsection (a) may after a hearing, be denied by the director of human services certification required for eligibility for reimbursements by insurers, for periods of not more than one year for each determination.
