§ 33-15.1-5. Appointment of guardians for minors. A probate court may appoint a guardian of a minor under the age of fourteen (14) years. A minor of the age of fourteen (14) years or over may nominate his or her own guardian, who, if approved by the probate court, shall be appointed accordingly.
