No person shall engage in, or offer to engage in, the practice of environmental health without being registered in accordance with sections 4736.01 to 4736.15 of the Revised Code. A sanitarian-in-training may engage in the practice of environmental health for a period not to exceed five years, provided the sanitarian-in-training is supervised by a registered sanitarian. No person except a registered sanitarian shall use the title "registered sanitarian" or the abbreviation "R.S." after the person's name, or represent self as a registered sanitarian. Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
