“Practice of applied behavior analysis” means the design, implementation and evaluation of instructional and environmental modifications based on scientific research and observations of behavior and the environment to produce socially significant improvement in human behavior, including, without limitation:

1. The empirical identification of functional relations between environment and behavior; and

2. The use of contextual factors, motivating operations, antecedent stimuli, positive reinforcement and other procedures to help a person develop new behaviors, increase or decrease existing behaviors and engage in certain behavior under specific environmental conditions.

The term includes the provision of behavioral therapy by a behavior analyst, assistant behavior analyst or registered behavior technician.
