Copy with citation
Copy as parenthetical citation

When hedges are planted along any public road, the owner of the land shall trim the hedges on the side next to the road and keep them trimmed, so that travelers will not be inconvenienced thereby. If the hedges intrude upon any road, the overseer shall give written notice to the owner or occupant of the land to have the hedges trimmed within ten days after notice, so as not to obstruct the road or interfere with travelers; otherwise, the owner or occupant shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction, punished as for obstructing a public highway. Such owner or occupant shall forfeit two dollars per day for every day’s failure to comply with such notice, to be recovered by action.
