Benton County is bounded by beginning at a point on the boundary between the States of Mississippi and Tennessee where it is intersected by the line between ranges one and two, west; thence south on section lines to the southwest corner of section six, township three, range one, west; thence due east on section lines to the southeast corner of section four, township three, range one, west; thence due south on section lines to the southwest corner of section three, township six, range one, west; thence east to the basis meridian; thence north on said meridian line to the line between townships five and six; thence due east on said township line to the southeast corner of section thirty-three, in township five, range two, east; thence due north on section lines to the southeast corner of section sixteen, in township three, range two, east; thence due east on section lines to the southeast corner of section thirteen, township three, range two, east; thence due north on range line between ranges two and three to the southeast corner of township two, range two, east; thence due east on township lines to the southeast corner of section thirty-one, township two, range three, east; thence due north on section lines to the Tennessee state line; thence due west on said state line to the beginning.
