286.1-012 Appointment of commissioner -- Qualifications. The Governor, in accordance with KRS 12.040, shall appoint as commissioner of financial institutions a person knowledgeable in banking with not less than three (3) years' banking experience. For this purpose, "banking experience" means service as an executive officer in a bank with its principal office located in Kentucky or service in a supervisory capacity in a state or federal agency having regulatory authority over banks or other financial institutions.
