(625 ILCS 40/10-1) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 610-1) Sec. 10-1. Violations. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this Act, a person who violates any of the provisions of this Act is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor. (b) A person who violates subsection (B) of Section 5-1 of this Act is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor. (c) A person who violates Section 2-4 or Section 5-7.3 of this Act is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. (Source: P.A. 89-55, eff. 1-1-96.)
(625 ILCS 40/10-2) Sec. 10-2. Denial of operating privilege. A person who is convicted of a violation of subsection (B) of Section 5-1 or Section 5-7 of this Act, in addition to other penalties authorized in this Act, may in the discretion of the court be refused the privilege to operate a snowmobile in this State for a period of one year or more. (625 ILCS 40/10-3) Sec. 10-3. Unlawful operation of a snowmobile. A person may not operate a snowmobile during any period when his or her privilege to operate a snowmobile is suspended or revoked in this State, by another state, by a federal agency, or by a province of Canada. A person who operates a snowmobile during the period when he or she is denied the privilege to operate a snowmobile is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. (Source: P.A. 94-214, eff. 1-1-06.)
