The board may, in the name of the people of Colorado, through the attorney general of Colorado, apply for an injunction to a court to enjoin a person from committing an act declared to be a misdemeanor by this article. If it is established that the defendant has been or is committing an act declared to be a misdemeanor by this article, the court shall enter a decree perpetually enjoining the defendant from further committing the act. If a person violates an injunction issued under this section, the court may try and punish the offender for contempt of court.
