(a) As used in this subchapter, "career and technical education program of study" means a planned program of courses and learning experiences that:
(1) Begins with the exploration of career options;
(2) Supports basic academic and life skills; and
(3) Enables achievement of:
(A) High academic standards;
(B) Leadership;
(C) High-skill, high-wage employment preparation; and
(D) Advanced continuing education.
(b)
(1) A rigorous career and technical education program of study that links secondary education and postsecondary education and combines academic and technical education in a structured sequence of courses that progresses from broad foundation skills to occupationally specific courses shall be made available.
(2) Post-secondary credits for career and technical education program of study courses that lead to a postsecondary credential, certificate, or degree may be awarded.
