The treasurer of the board of education, in the performance of the treasurer's duties, shall record the proceedings of each meeting in a book to be provided by the board for that purpose, which shall be a public record. The record of proceedings at each meeting of the board shall be read at its next succeeding meeting, corrected and approved, which approval shall be noted in the proceedings. After such approval, the president shall sign the record and the treasurer shall attest to the accuracy of the information contained in the record. The treasurer's attestation shall not be construed to serve as authorization or execution of any action taken or not taken during any meeting.
By resolution, a board of education may waive the reading of the record of any of its proceedings, provided that such record has been distributed to the members of the board of education at least two days prior to the date of the next succeeding meeting and that copies of such record are made available to the public and news media. Such resolution shall be in full force and effect until such time as amended or rescinded by the board of education.
