The state department shall seek federal approval to continue providing substance abuse treatment services for twelve months following a pregnancy to women who are eligible to receive services under the medical assistance program, who are receiving services pursuant to the treatment program for high-risk pregnant women, and who continue to participate in the treatment program. The state department shall implement the continued services to the extent allowed by the federal government.
