The commissioner of agriculture or his or her designee is a peace officer while engaged in the performance of his or her duties whose authority shall be limited pursuant to the "Farm Products Act", section 35-37-116, the "Commodity Handler Act", section 35-36-111, the "Animal Protection Act", section 35-42-107 (4), and the "Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act", section 35-80-109 (6).
