After consultation with the board, the director of the division of professions and occupations shall appoint an executive administrator for the board and such other personnel as are deemed necessary, pursuant to section 13 of article XII of the state constitution. At least one member of the board shall serve on any panel convened by the department of personnel to interview candidates for the position of executive administrator.
