(a)
(1) Any person incarcerated by the Department of Correction may be permitted to remain within a treatment facility operated by the department, if serious physical or mental disorders or disabilities exist, until release to a similar treatment setting outside of the department can be accomplished.
(2) In no case should the continuation of housing extend beyond a seventy-two-hour period.
(b) The department will adopt rules to govern the housing situations.
