(750 ILCS 36/401) Sec. 401. Application And Construction. In applying and construing this Uniform Act, consideration must be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among states that enact it. (Source: P.A. 93-108, eff. 1-1-04.)

(750 ILCS 36/402) Sec. 402. Severability Clause. If any provision of this Act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Act are severable.
